 The 35th Annual General Meeting of the Bahamas Law Enforcement Co-operative Credit Union Ltd

will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at 8:00 am at the Church of God Auditorium,

Joe Farrington Road, Nassau, Bahamas for the following purposes:


To receive the Management Committee’s Report                       

To receive the 2019 audited Financial Statements                     

 To discuss and approve the 2021 Budget                                  

To elect three (3) members to the Management Committee       

To elect two (2) members to the Supervisory Committee           

To elect three (3) members to the Credit Committee                 

To take action on all matters that may come before the meeting

ALL members are encouraged to attend.

Members can apply for car loans for new vehicles and used vehicles up to 5 years old at competitive interest rates. Special conditions apply.

BLECCU Visa Credit Cards now have an embedded chip that gives you extra fraud protection worldwide. Members can apply for a VISA chip card after six monthly deductions have been received from their salary. Limits range from $500.00 to $2,500.00. 

This account is open to members. Deposits range from $ 1,000 to $50,000 at competitive interest rates. Terms range from three to twelve months. A penalty of $50.00 or 1 ½% of the interest, whichever is greater, is charged if the account is broken before it matures. 

This account is open to members and non-members. Deposits range from $10.00 to $250.00 per month. The funds, plus interest, are paid on third Monday in November of each year.

Members can apply for consumer loans, after three to six months, for amounts up to twice their share balance.



Due to the threat of COVID-19 and in compliance with the Emergency Orders, the Bahamas Law Enforcement Co-operative Credit Union please note the following.

1. Our new operating hours are 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. We have suspended our Saturday hours until further notice.

2.  AGM has been postponed until further notice. 

3. When you visit our offices, please adhere to the following:

    a. Facial masks MUST be worn at all times.

    b. Maintain a distance of 3 to 6 feet from other members.

    c. Kindly observe the decals on the floor.

    d. We can admit no more than 3 members at a time.

    e. Once transaction is completed, exit the building as soon as possible.



Members who were negatively impacted financially due to COVID19 are welcome to inquire about our loan payment deferral program.

Members can apply to consolidate their debt into one payment at a competitive interest rate. Special conditions apply.

Members can apply for educational loans for a maximum amount of $5,000.00. Special conditions apply.

 Members can apply for loans to purchase homes and vacant land. Repayment for homes is up to 20 years and repayment for vacant land is up to 10 years. Special conditions apply.



Members may open this account for their children, or minors that are under their care, aged 0 to16 years. Interest is calculated and paid annually on balances over $100.00.

The Nominations Committee, in accordance with Sections 46, 47, 48, 73 and 79 of the Bahamas Co-operative Credit Unions Act, 2015, wishes to announce that applications are now being invited from all members in good standing who may wish to run as candidates for the seats to become vacant at the next Annual General Meeting. The following seats are available:


  1. The Board of Directors (2 seats),
  2. The Supervisory Committee (2 seats),
  3. The Credit Committee (2 seats) 




  • Is a member in accordance with Section 24 of the Bahamas Co-operative Credit Unions Act, 2015


  • Is 18 years of age or older (Section 50(a) of the Bahamas Co-operative Credit Unions Act, 2015)


  • Is not disqualified from serving in accordance with Section 50 of the Bahamas Co-operative Credit Unions Act, 2015


  • Have qualifications or experience in matters relating to accounts, finance, business administration, commerce or law (Section 48(4)(a)(i) of the Bahamas Co-operative Credit Unions Act, 2015)
